Founded in Nuremberg in 1855, the company initially produced pencils and later charcoal pencils for arc lamps, until production switched to artificial charcoal and electrographite at the beginning of the last century.
Today, Graphite Cova is a supplier of graphite electrodes, coatings for graphite electrodes and special products made of carbon and graphite, which are used in almost every industrial sector.

The raw materials take many weeks, often months, to become high-quality products.
Carbon products are the result of a complex production process. After the molding, the blanks spend several months in different large furnaces. A scheme individually tailored to each product specifies the duration and temperatures of up to
3,000 °C – this also ensures that the graphite bodies later meet the high expectations when they are used. The Graphite Cova products withstand the highest mechanical, chemical and thermal loads.
